Christmas Joy - February Heartache
Christmas was traditionally the season of peace and goodwill. Now it has become a mad, expensive orgy of
gift buying. Many consider it to be commercial, stressful and expensive. I hope that you are celebrating
Christmas in a style that suits with your financial situation rather than going into debt to provide the
biggest and best gifts for your family and friends.

New watering times
Beginning Monday, November 3, new watering rules come into play. You will now have the option of watering
twice a week. Watering with drippers and hand-held hoses fitted with a trigger nozzle will be allowed on the
following days and times:
Even numbered houses
Tuesday and Saturday 6-9am or 6-9pm
Odd numbered houses
Wednesday and Sunday 6-9am or 6-9pm
Even though you are now permitted to water twice a week, you still must not exceed 3 hours of watering each week.
The new arrangements are not relaxing or easing water restrictions but are building more flexibility into the system for householders.
Watering cans and buckets may still be used at any time.
Existing permits for age or disability will continue and all other
level 3 water restrictions relating to nurseries, car washing, pools, spas, fountains
and ponds remain the same.
There is still a ban on the using household sprinklers, hoses and irrigation systems.
Buckets and watering cans will be allowed, there will be no restrictions on the use of water from rainwater
tanks and the temporary bucketing and hosing of greywater will continue to be permitted in line with the
requirements of the Department of Health. Permits will be issued by SA Water on request to allow the use of
a hand held hose during certain hours for those people unable to carry buckets or watering cans due to age
or disability.
See the website for more details.

Digital Photography
It's amazing how far digital photography has come in the last few years. Ever since digital photography came
into our lives, taking photos has become so much easier. Not to mention so much more convenient.
Today's cameras are small and are very easily put into a pocket to carry around. There is no longer any need to
carry rolls of film with you. All you need to do is to see that the batteries in your camera are charged and ready
to take that picture. One of the best things that digital photography permits is the fact that once your images are
uploaded on your computer, you can send them to as many people as you like. The following links may be of use to
people who intend using their camera this summer.
