If the powerlines are down, or if anything has fallen on them, keep well away.

If only your property is affected, first check the mains switch in your fuse box. If a single appliance is affected, check that it is properly assembled and connected. Check the powerpoint by plugging in a hair dryer or table lamp to make sure there is power at the point. If you have an electrical fault in your house or with appliances, do not try to fix it yourself. A licensed electrician should do this.

Salisbury   HELPLINE   Information
image image The Safety House Association of South Australia was a voluntary network of approved homes, commercial and public buildings and public transport displaying the Safety House sign to indicate that reliable assistance is available. It was a nationally organised program that provided a safe place for people to go if they were lost, injured, bullied, frightened, feeling unsafe, needing to contact road service or call for emergency services.

In it's place now is SCA [Safer Communities Australia], a community-based organisation which identifies personal and community safety issues and provides services which promote greater safety.

A Safety Assist location is a place where you can go for help if you feel unsafe, frightened or unsure. The people in a Safety Assist place have had special police and community checks so you know that they are safe people who can be trusted to help you.
