Household Hard Waste Collection

Household hard waste collection available from January 2008

The City of Salisbury is pleased to announce the introduction of a Hard Waste Collection Service for residents, commencing January 2008. Due to resident demand, the City of Salisbury, together with the Northern Adelaide Waste Management Authority (NAWMA), will offer its first Hard Waste Collection Service from January 2008.

It has been recognised that residents have different needs, so there will be two options available to residents within the Salisbury council area.

How it works
Residents may choose between one of two options each year the service is offered :
  • Voucher System
  • Suburb Booking System - see schedule on right

Voucher System
From January 2008, residents may apply for one [1] voucher to be used within the calendar year.

The voucher entitlement is for one trailer load per year of hard waste, to be deposited free of charge at the Council Waste Transfer Station, Research Rd, Pooraka. The trailer size is not to exceed :
  • 7 x 4 feet in size - 2.1 x 1.2 metres
  • 5 feet in height - 1.5 metres
Please note : Trailers that exceed the voucher limit will incur an additional fee

Suburb Booking System
Residents are able to book up to one month in advance [Freecall 1800 111 004] for their hard waste to be collected from their home. A letter of confirmation will be posted once bookings are received.

These bookings incur a $10 fee

Salisbury Council residents are entitled to only one household collection per calendar year but in 2010 you have the choice of two different allocated months

Important information regarding home collections
  • Hard waste to be collected from the home should be stacked within the front boundary of your property, the night before or on the day of collection.
  • It should not spill out onto the kerbside [unit complexes are excepted]
  • Ensure all items are ready from 7am on day of collection
  • Small items may be be stacked in cardboard boxes
Collections will operate between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday
