Home Assist
Jointly funded by Home and Community Care (HACC) and Salisbury Council, the Home Assist program aims to
provide support that will assist frail older people, people with a disability, and their carers to stay
independent in their own homes. Staff in consultation with eligible clients will develop a service plan
that addresses individual needs and circumstances. For more details see

City of Salisbury offers electronic billing
As part of the service offered by City of Salisbury, they are offering electronic bills to customers.
Paying your rates, infringement notice (eg parking and animal infringements), as well as your dog registration
has never been easier. Simply use the secure online payment system from the comfort of your own home or office.

Do I require approval from Council?
Generally, most structures require approval from Council. However, there are
some instances where smaller type structures do not have to have Council approval.
These types of structures which do not need approval may include tool sheds,
bird aviaries, pergolas with an open roof form and rainwater tanks.

The Swimming Centre season begins Sunday, October 15 and runs until the end of March.
Public session times are:
Monday to Friday 10 am - 7 pm
Weekends/Public Holidays 11 am - 6 pm.

Found Dogs
Have you lost your dog?
This is a record of dogs currently held by the City of Salisbury.
Dogs may not appear on the website on the day impounded but will appear within 24 hours.
Please check this website regularly.
Any dog NOT CLAIMED within 72 hours of the time of being seized will be sent to the Animal Welfare League.

TWELVE25 Salisbury Youth Enterprise Centre
TWELVE25 Salisbury Youth Enterprise Centre is the City of Salisbury's commitment to expanding youth services across
the city. Based on Wiltshire Street (adjacent to the institute) the new building will be the infrastructure that
the new youth programs will use. TWELVE25 aims to increase the capacity of young people aged 12 years to 25 years.
The focus of the centre will be the delivery of development programs that enhance social interaction, education,
employment and enterprise opportunities.

Mawson Lakes Water Supply
SA Water owns and is responsible for the operation of the recycled water system at Mawson Lakes.
Residents should take extra care when dealing with recycled water connections. It's important
that any contractors who are working on your property are aware of the dual water supply and
the need to maintain the integrity of the systems. We've prepared a checklist for residents

Concessions
A range of concessions is available from the State Government to help South Australians on low or fixed
incomes with the cost of household and other expenses. These include concessions on your council rates,
water and sewerage, energy costs, the Emergency Services Levy, and public transport. Assistance is also
available to assist with the cost of purchasing spectacles.

Northern Community Legal Service
Northern Community Legal Service offers free legal information and a referral service to people living in
the northern Adelaide metropolitan area. Ongoing legal assistance is only provided to those people who are
on low incomes and who are not eligible for legal aid.
The centre has a specialist Child Support Service, which is available to parents receiving, or those
eligible to receive child support, as well as parents who are paying child support.
A free financial counselling service is also available to members of the northern community.

Justice of the Peace Service
A Justice of the Peace is authorised to witness and attest many documents, such as statutory declarations,
affidavits, wills, divorce documents, power of attorney and guardianship documents etc, as well as certify copies
of original documents. The City of Salisbury offers the service of a JP at the
following locations, days and times.

Disabled Persons Parking
The State Government has recently increased the fine for illegally parking in a disabled space without a permit.
If you have been using these parking spaces without a permit, but feel you are eligible for one, then you should
apply as soon as possible. A Temporary Disabled Person’s Parking Permit is also available.

School Card Scheme
The School Card Scheme provides financial assistance towards the educational expenses incurred by families
who meet the eligibility criteria of having a child or children from 4 years of age attending school full time,
independent full time students undertaking 6 subjects in years 10 or 11, or 5 subjects in year 12. Adult
re-entry students, that meet the criteria, are also eligible.
Full-time students of low income families who are in financial need may be eligible to receive assistance to enable
them to pay school fees, obtain books and materials and attend camps and excursions.

Salisbury Communities for Children
Salisbury Communities for Children is a Stronger Families and Communities Strategy
initiative working with to improove the outcomes for families with children 0-5 living
in the Pooraka, Ingle Farm, Para Hills, Para Hills West and Salisbury East areas.
The FamilyZone Ingle Farm Hub is central to the Salisbury Communities for Children initiative. It is a
meeting place for families staffed by professionals from a number of agencies and supported by volunteers.
Other organizations also offer services which meet identified community needs.

There's No Such Thing As A Silly Question
There's No Such Thing As A Silly Question is a practical guide for South Australian families living with a child with
chronic illness, disability, mental illness or a life-threatening condition. The publication, adapted from a Victorian book by
the same name, and produced by InterACT has been tailored for South Australian families through the support of a team of health
professionals coordinated by Anna Malden, Chronic/Complex Care Discharge Clinical Practice Consultant, Patient Flow at the
Women's & Children's Hospital.
